Circular Principles

WM has taken a new step in the circular economy domain. We are focused on using more efficient materials and eco-friendly chemical products with less impact on the planet, minimizing waste, and providing our clients the possibility to recycle the product once it has reached the end of its life cycle maximazing a circular economy loop and extending product lifecycle.

New models

Stablishing new business models to extend product life cycle

Materials and structure

Selecting low impact materials and increase efficiency in product manufacture by consuming fewer natural resources.

Optimization of the designing process with the supply cycle in mind and not using more materials than necessary.

Use of the latest technology reducing energy consumption and associated emissions.

Designing with the end in mind. Thinking through how the product will be cycled at the end of his life.

Waste avoidance

Minimizing and even eliminating waste in the product creation process.

Green chemistry

Use of more efficient and eco-friendly chemical products that reduce the use of hazardous and contaminant substances.

Durability and quality

Products made stronger by method of make and material choices.

Purposeful packaging, made of sustainable materials.

Use of the product

The client enjoys the best quality product.

Partnership alliance

Once the product has been used, our partner, specialized in waste management collects it and decide whether it can be recycled or biodegraded.

United Nations partnership

WM Group is proud to announce that we have joined the Sustainable Development Goals program from United Nations.

The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) were born at the United Nations Conference on Sustainable Development in Rio de Janeiro in 2012.
You may check these goals HERE.

We have identified the areas where WM has the biggest potential to contribute to the SDGs, given the nature and scale of our business.

Our targets achieved in 2020

Energy Efficiency

We value the importance of  increasing the energy efficiency of our buildings, factories and stores.

When planning, constructing and renovating Company buildings, WM always ensures the use of the latest and energy-efficient technologies reducing energy consumption and the associated emissions.

WM has launched a digitalisation project in the area of energy consumption and production data.
By analysing power consumption figures of the manufacturing structure and the facility management system, we are able to determine optimal operating conditions, optimise processes and increase energy efficiency.

Packaging Innovation

Sustainable packaging is a main priority at WM,  redesigning packaging to reduce waste but ensuring damage-free delivery.

We focus on investment in leading edge and innovative technologies as we continue to lead in packaging innovation.

Emphasis has been placed on sustainable materials.

Besides switching to eco-friendly packaging materials, also optimising the size of your packaging can result in size and weight savings, minimising the number of trips and therefore fuel for delivery and transit.

Materials: Using raw 100% recycled or raw materials

Production process: By minimising the production process, supply chain and carbon footprint

Reusability: Creating a circular economy around the packaging, extending its lifecycle and usability.
